Interlibrary Loan (ILL) and Resource Sharing (RS) at Old Westbury

Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a free service that allows Old Westbury students, staff, and faculty to request articles, books, and other material from other libraries.

How to Place a Hold on an Item in the OW Library Collection

You can place a hold on books and DVDs from our OW Library Catalog by clicking on

If the item is not readily available in our collection, submit an interlibrary loan request.

Before you place a hold on an item, make sure you are signed into the catalog (yellow ribbon will ask for sign-in).

Once your request has been successfully placed, you’ll receive an email notification when your item is on hold along with a link to schedule a pickup. Click the link to schedule an appointment to pick up your items from the OW library circulation desk.

When your interlibrary loan items have arrived at the library, you will receive the same schedule a pick-up link to make an appointment to retrieve your items.
