The Black Lives Matter Movement In Context

In keeping with Old Westbury's Faculty Senate resolution in June 2020 to commit the 2020-2021 academic year to a focus on racial justice, the TLRC and the PARITY committee have put together the following list of courses that faculty have identified as potentially useful for students seeking a deeper understanding of the Black Lives Matter movement. These courses focus on one or more of the following topics: racism, white supremacy, anti-Blackness, colonialism or decolonization, the history/experiences/perspectives of Black, Indigenous, or other peoples of color, or anti-racist social movements/theory. We hope that providing this list will be part of a larger curricular shift to increasingly center Black experiences and Black lives at Old Westbury."
