About this Guide

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching, learning, and research materials in any medium that reside in the public domain or have been released under an intellectual property license that permits repurposing by others.

This guide provides an overview of OER and resources to Find, Adapt, and Create OER for your courses.

In addition to being free, OER are free to use and expand upon, following the terms of their licenses. Open Educational Resources are either in the public domain or licensed in a manner that provides users with free and perpetual permission to engage in the 5R activities:
