Agenda 11/14

The committee will meet with Michael Kinane, the Assistant to the President for Advancement. Mr Kinane oversees many procedures on campus. Mr Kinane met with the committee last year, and we will revisit past and new areas of concern.

1.    Emergency telephone announcements:  We are moving the college event line (516-876-3030) from a VOIP line to a traditional hard-line via Verizon.  Mr Kinane is working with the Division of Business and Finance and the telecommunications office to move this along.  During the hurricane and after, no one was able to call and find out what was going on.

*Has this issue been resolved? What is the new procedure, if any?

2.    Content is being loaded into the new College website with an expectation that it will be "live" no later than June 30, 2013. Students, faculty and staff have found the current website not to be helpful, user friendly and not updated.

*The new website is not available, why?

3.    Meetings will begin next week with the Print Shop manager to review current operations and to begin planning for services to be rendered next fiscal/academic year.

 *What is the outcome?

4.    The search committee working to fill the Digital Communications Specialist position is meeting this week for its next round of resume reviews, which will enable us to whittle the group down to finalists who will be interviewed.  This person will be the key person involved in bringing our new email management and emergency notification system online.

*Did this position get filled?

5. *The transition to the new Email system? What does this mean for faculty, staff and students?
