Directions to Opt-Out

To opt out of your data being used to train ChatGPT, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your ChatGPT account: If you have a ChatGPT Plus account, you'll need to be logged in to access the necessary settings.
  2. Go to Settings: Click on your profile picture in the bottom left corner and select "Settings."
  3. Find Data Controls: In the Settings menu, look for the "Data controls" option.
  4. Toggle off "Chat history & training": You'll see a toggle switch next to "Chat history & training." Toggle this switch to the "off" position.
  5. Confirm: You may be asked to confirm your choice. Click "Confirm" to proceed.

Once you've completed these steps, your new conversations will no longer be used to train the ChatGPT model.

Please note that this will only affect future conversations. Any previous conversations may still be part of the training data.

To opt out of your data being used to train Gemini, you can follow these steps:

  1. Access Your Google Account Settings:

    • Go to your Google Account settings page. You can usually access this by clicking on your profile picture in the top right corner of most Google services and selecting "Account."
  2. Navigate to Data & Privacy:

    • In your Account settings, find the "Data & privacy" section.
  3. Find "Web & App Activity":

    • Look for the "Web & App Activity" section. This is where Google collects data about your activity on Google services, including your interactions with Gemini.
  4. Turn Off Web & App Activity:

    • Toggle the "Web & App Activity" switch to "Off." This will prevent Google from collecting and storing your activity data, including your interactions with Gemini.

Additional Tips:

  • Clear Your History: You can also clear your browsing history and other activity data to remove any past interactions with Gemini from Google's servers.
  • Be Mindful of Other Google Services: If you use other Google services, such as Google Search or Gmail, be aware that your activity data from these services may still be used for training AI models.

By following these steps, you can significantly reduce the amount of data Google collects from your interactions with Gemini and other Google services.
