profit membership and education organization whose mission is to promote
open-minded, rigorous and evidence-based enquiry into postmaterialist consciousness research.
After-Death Communications | Evelyn Elsaesser
By collecting information about how ADCs occur and unfold, and by analyzing their impact on individuals’ lives, we aim to make these results accessible to people who face the death of a loved one, as well as to anyone sensitized to the finite nature of human existence.
Afterlife Research and Education Institute
Dedicated teams of researchers, scientists, technicians, engineers, inventors, philosophers, and others who have crossed from this plane to the next are now endeavoring tirelessly to develop means by which our two realms will be able to communicate easily and freely. Advancements in communications technology and our understanding of altered states of mind today have made possible new, effective methods of afterlife communication not available to humankind before today. The Afterlife Research and Education Institute is dedicated to supporting the research, development, education, and practice on the earth plane that will enable the teams working in the other realms to guide us into discovering and using the methods of communication they are developing.
Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies
Aerospace entrepreneur Robert T. Bigelow founded the Bigelow Institute for Consciousness Studies (BICS) in April 2020 to support research into both the survival of human consciousness after physical death and, based on data from such studies, the nature of the afterlife. For decades, Robert Bigelow has supported serious investigations into consciousness and manifestations of unusual phenomena that are not yet understood by science.
DOPS (Division of Perceptual Studies)
Founded in 1967 by Dr. Ian Stevenson, the Division of Perceptual Studies (DOPS) at the University of Virginia is a research group devoted to the rigorous evaluation of empirical evidence for extraordinary human experiences and capacities.
The primary focus of DOPS is investigating the mind’s relationship to the body and the possibility of consciousness surviving physical death. In general, this process involves studying phenomena that challenge mainstream scientific paradigms regarding the nature of human consciousness.
DOPS also studies the impact of these experiences on people, explores the implications for scientific theory, and disseminates this information broadly to both the public and scientific communities. It is our hope that other scientists join in addressing the serious study of the nature of consciousness and its interaction with the physical worl
The Global Consciousness Project
The Global Consciousness Project is an international, multidisciplinary collaboration of scientists and engineers. We collect data continuously from a global network of physical random number generators located in up to 70 host sites around the world at any given time. The data are transmitted to a central archive which now contains more than 15 years of random data in parallel sequences of synchronized 200-bit trials generated every second.
IANDS (International Association for Near-Death Studies)
The International Association for Near-Death Studies is a nonprofit organization based in Durham, North Carolina in the United States, associated with near-death studies. The Association was founded in the US in 1981, in order to study and provide information on the phenomena of the near death experience.
Induced After Death Communication Therapy
IADC is a psychotherapeutic treatment for grief that has at its core the goal of reducing the intense sadness and emotional distress associated with grief and traumatic loss. When the grief-related sadness surrounding the loss diminishes, clients generally experience a state of calmness, openness, and receptivity. In this state, about two-thirds to three-fourths of clients report experiencing a deep sense of connection with the deceased loved one, which may be experienced through sensory means (sight, sound, smell, taste, etc.) or as a “sense of presence” of the loved one. This sense of connection is a well-researched phenomenon referred to in the scientific literature as “after-death communication” or “ADC,” which has been shown to have significant beneficial impacts related to bereavement (Elsaesser, et al. 2020; Streit-Horn, 2011).
IONS (Institute of Noetic Sciences)
The Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) is an American non-profit parapsychological research institute. It was co-founded in 1973 by former astronaut Edgar Mitchell,[2][3][4] the sixth man to walk on the Moon, along with investor Paul N.Temple and others interested in purported paranormal phenomena, in order to encourage and conduct research on noetics and human potentials.
IRVA (International Remote Viewing Association)
The International Remote Viewing Association (IRVA) was organized March 18, 1999, by selected scientists and practitioners meeting in Alamogordo, New Mexico in conjunction with the first professional conference on Remote Viewing in Ruiduso, New Mexico. The concluded objective was to create an organization that would provide a mechanism for evaluating the discipline called “remote viewing”, encourage scientifically sound research, propose ethical standards and provide overview educational information to the remote viewing community and general public. IRVA’s primary goal is to provide an unbiased approach relative to information, training, research and education regarding Remote Viewing.

New Thinking Allowed YouTube channel, hosted by parapsychologist, Jeffrey Mishlove, PhD, supports conversations, interviews and monologues on the leading edge of knowledge and discovery. Guests include leading figures in philosophy, psychology, health, science, and spirituality — with an emphasis on parapsychology.
The New York Declaration on Animal Consciousness
Which animals have the capacity for conscious experience? While much uncertainty remains, some points of wide agreement have emerged.
First, there is strong scientific support for attributions of conscious experience to other mammals and to birds.
Second, the empirical evidence indicates at least a realistic possibility of conscious experience in all vertebrates (including reptiles, amphibians, and fishes) and many invertebrates (including, at minimum, cephalopod mollusks, decapod crustaceans, and insects).
Third, when there is a realistic possibility of conscious experience in an animal, it is irresponsible to ignore that possibility in decisions affecting that animal. We should consider welfare risks and use the evidence to inform our responses to these risks.
The Parapsychology Foundation
The Parapsychology Foundation is a not-for-profit foundation which provides a worldwide forum supporting the scientific investigation of psychic phenomena. Since its incorporation in 1951, the Parapsychology Foundation has remained committed to two goals: To support scientific and academic research into psychic phenomena; and to provide professional resources and information to the academic and lay communities.
