Suggested Syllabus Component for Library Resources and Research Help- Feel Free to Edit
For research help visit the SUNY Old Westbury Library, located in Campus Center L section. The library provides access to print materials, course reserves and a variety of full-text online resources accessible both on and off campus. This includes e-books, journal articles, newspapers, and magazines. Some articles and book chapters are not available full-text through the library’s resources but can possibly be obtained through Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
The librarians at OW can help you develop research questions, identify research strategies, search for relevant and reliable information and data, select the best sources for your paper or project, and cite sources. A librarian can meet with you in person (one-on-one or in groups), and provide assistance via email, phone, or library chat (instant messenger). Every OW librarian is able to help students with a project in any discipline. Chanté Hope is the designated librarian to the Business Department to support the research needs of the students. You are welcome to stop by her office (located in the Library, L-253), or schedule an appointment!
Need to do research but don't know where to start? Searching for a book, article, or data to support your research? Not sure how to cite a source in your bibliography? Ask a librarian! Help is available via chat, email, phone, drop by the reference desk, or by appointment.
