Course Description

EL2221: Adolescent Literature (4 credits)
Traces the patterns and problems of growing up in America and forming an identity in the context of family infuence and social pressures. Authors include Twain, Salinger, McCullers, Baldwin, Marshall, Potak, Walker. Interpretive essays and a research paper are required. The course stresses training in quotation, citation, and research methods. Offered every year.
Prerequisite: EC II placement.
