English Literature: Home

Have a question?  Not sure where to start?  Drop us a line and Old Westbury Librarians will assist you via Libanswers.

Welcome to Literature!

Greetings!  Welcome to the Old Westbury Library Literature Page.

Be sure to check out the tabs at the top of the Libguide.

Although we couldn't quite fit all of English literature into our "Books" page, we have plenty of links to books and other literary resources on the "Books" page.

Why Journals?  Our "Journals" page offers links to a number of literary publications where you'll find helpful literary criticism and more.  You can browse by article or do keyword searches within specific journals.  Literary criticism is key.  Why?  Often it's helpful to see what other commentary is out there on the books you've been asked to read.

Looking for articles?  Want to search journals and a lot of other publications all at once?  Check out our "Database" page.

Want to go beyond Wikipedia?  Take a look at our "Internet Sources" page for links to helpful web links.

Have an interest in becoming a professional writer and/or getting your work published?  Check out the "Resources for Writers" page to locate information on professional associations.

Curious about great works of literature en un excellente idioma?  Featuring Spanish and English language resources, take a look at our "Spanish Literature" page.

Finally, once you've gathered your research and perhaps even found some ways to publish your work, go to "Write and Cite".  Here you'll find all the things you need for assistance with writing the paper and citing your sources.
